See answer above.
How long have you been associated with the Highland Park Tennis Club? In what capacities have you interacted with the club?
I am one of the founding members of the Highland Park Tennis Club.
At what age, where and with whom did you first begin playing tennis?
I was about 25 years old and joined the first and only black tennis club in Pgh., as Blacks were not accepted in the white tennis community. They were self-taught and read tennis books. They taught me as well. We travelled across the country and played the American Tennis Association (ATA) Circuit. They taught me well as I won some tournaments, singles and doubles. Later I took lessons from several tennis Pros. My strength’s were my quickness, passing shots, and net. I would have liked to have a stronger serve.
